Nigerian Child Bride Kills Man She Was Forced To Marry, 3 Of His Friends

KANO, Nigeria – A child bride forced into marriage in Nigeria killed a groom and three of his friends with a poisoned meal, police said Thursday.
Fourteen-year-old Wasila Umaru was married last week to 35-year-old Umaru Sani, according to assistant superintendent Musa Magaji Majia.
Over the weekend, the groom invited a dozen friends to celebrate at his Ungwar Yansoro village, about 60 miles from the northern city of Kano.
The teenager told police she bought rat poison at a village market and used it to prepare a dish of rice.
“The suspect confessed to committing the crime and said she did it because she was forced to marry a man she did not love,” Majia told The Associated Press.
The groom and a friend died the same day, and two other victims died later in the hospital.
Umaru is cooperating with police and likely will be charged with culpable homicide, according to Majia.
Child marriage is common in Nigeria and especially in the mainly Muslim and impoverished north, where the numbers increase in times of drought because a bride price is paid and it means one less mouth to feed. Fifty percent of Nigerian girls living in rural areas are married before they turn 18, according to the U.N. children’s agency. That’s a lot of child brides in a country of some 170 million people of whom half are under 18.
Child brides often suffer difficult pregnancies — the leading cause of death worldwide for girls aged 15 to 19 — and are much more likely to contract AIDS and be subjected to domestic violence, according to the International Center for Research on Women.
Early and forced marriage is classified as modern-day slavery by the U.N. labor organization, and Nigeria’s Child Rights Act prohibits marriage before 18. But that federal law competes with Islamic Shariah law that holds in most northern states.
No one in Nigeria has been prosecuted for marrying a child, including Sen. Sani Ahmed Yerima, infamous for divorcing a 17-year-old that he married when she was 15 so he could marry a 14-year-old Egyptian girl in 2010, when he was 49. He had to divorce one of his child brides because Islamic law allows a maximum of four wives at a time.
Many child brides are divorced, for that reason and because of incontinence and other medical problems caused by difficult pregnancies, according to local child rights advocates who say such girls are put out on the street.

TRAGIC: Church Plane Crashes In Indonesia, 2 Killed Many Injured

A light aircraft has been reported to have crashed into a fence during take-off in eastern Indonesia on Wednesday, killing the US pilot and a passenger.
According to reports, the small plane is being operated by a local Seventh-Day Adventist Church, and it was gathered that the plane was on a charity mission when it went down at an airstrip in the town of Sentani.
The US-made Kodiak plane was carrying six passengers and was chartered to deliver humanitarian supplies to a remote district in Indonesia’s easternmost Papua province.
* Indonesian paramilitary police in Tanah Hitam village near Papua provincial capital Jayapura recently
“The American pilot and an Indonesian passenger were killed in the accident. The aircraft partly caught fire,” Papua province police spokesman Sulistyo Pudjo told newsmen.
The plane crashed into a fence by the tarmac, he said, adding that five other passengers were injured, two of them seriously.
Indonesia, which relies heavily on air transport to connect its more than 17,000 islands, has one of Asia’s worst aviation safety records.
The Indonesian region of Papua makes up the western half of New Guinea Island. People there rely on air transport in the absence of a substantial road network in the mountainous terrain with vast tracts of dense jungle.

North-East Governors Ask INEC Not To Postpone 2015 Polls In Their States

Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states governors appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with the request not to postpone the 2015 general elections in these states, which are mostly affected by insurgency.
In a statement issued on Wednesday they asked the electoral body to ignore the calls by some politicians for the postponement. In the opinion of the governors, INEC should courageously hold the elections like it was made last Saturday in Afghanistan, the country also facing terrorism challenges.
The statement partially reads:
“Afghanistan was celebrated worldwide for liberating herself from the scourge of fear, thereby sending a strong signal that no threat would prevent them from choosing their leaders through democratic processes.”
Again, referring to the experience of Afghanistan, the governors stressed the importance of providing adequate security for the conduct of the polls.

Atletico stun Barca and claim semis berth

Atletico Madrid hit new heights in their incredible season when Koke’s goal secured a 2-1 aggregate success against Barcelona on Wednesday that put Atletico into the last four of Europe’s elite club competition for the first time in 40 years.
The stunning 1-0 victory at an electric Calderon stadium followed last week’s 1-1 draw in Barcelona in their Champions League quarterfinal, first leg and denied Barca a record-extending seventh consecutive appearance in the last four.
A fired-up Atletico blew Barca away in the opening 20 minutes and after midfielder Koke volleyed in from close range in the fifth minute former Barca forward David Villa twice hit the crossbar.
“It was a very important goal because it got us through to the semifinals,” Koke told Spanish broadcaster Canal Plus.
“The work of the team across both legs has been spectacular
“We ran a huge amount, we played the two games in the way we wanted and I think we were the clear winners,” he added.
“With these fans behind us it is very hard for us to lose a match here.”
Barca showed more intensity and had their chances in the second half against an exhausted Atletico but the home side held out with inspirational coach Diego Simeone willing them on from his technical area.
“We had the game within our grasp,” Barca midfielder Xavi said. “We had four or five very clear chances that normally we would put away.
“They made the most of those first 15 to 20 minutes when they played with a lot of intensity and scored the goal,” Xavi told Canal Plus.
“I think after that we stepped up to the challenge and deserved at least a draw.
“I think we played two good games and had our chances in both legs but it slipped through our fingers,” he added ruefully.
“We can only congratulate all the Atletico fans.”
BARCA ROCKED
Barca seemed to be settling into their usual dominant rhythm in the opening minutes on a warm night in the Spanish capital but were rocked back when Adrian burst clear in the fifth minute in a typical Atletico counter-attack.
His initial shot cannoned off the crossbar and when the ball was crossed back into the middle he nodded it across goal for Koke to volley in at the far post.
Atletico had the bit between their teeth and Barca suddenly went to pieces as Villa was twice allowed space in the area and twice saw his shots come back off the frame of the goal.
The game settled down after the frantic opening 20 minutes and Barca had a good chance to equalise when Lionel Messi, who had earlier headed narrowly wide, missed the target after brilliant work from Neymar on the left.
Barca began the second half strongly and immediately had Atletico on the back foot.
Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois saved brilliantly at Neymar’s feet in the 49th minute and Atletico somehow scrambled the ball away when it seemed easier for Xavi to score.
Xavi should have done better with a free header from a Daniel Alves cross on the hour, while five minutes later at the other end substitute Diego tested Jose Manuel Pinto with an angled strike.
Atletico captain Gabi had a chance to put the game beyond Barca when he raced clear in the 70th minute but Pinto was able to save his weak effort.
Atletico came close again two minutes later with another swift break and Neymar’s diving header drifted just wide of the post 12 minutes from time.

Bayern prove too strong for United

Holders Bayern Munich recovered from the shock of conceding a stunning Patrice Evra goal to score three times in quick succession to beat Manchester United 3-1 and reach the Champions League semifinals on Wednesday.
An uninspiring quarterfinal, second leg burst into life when Evra met a bouncing ball with a rasping half-volley to put United ahead in the 57th minute and 2-1 in front on aggregate.
Mario Mandzukic equalised also immediately for Bayern with a header and Thomas Mueller turned in an Arjen Robben cross in the 68th minute before Dutchman Robben added the third himself.
Wayne Rooney had missed a chance to put United 2-1 ahead on the night when he scuffed a shot from in front of goal and Bayern went though 4-2 on aggregate to stay on course for a treble and continue United’s miserable season.
As in the first leg that ended 1-1, Bayern totally dominated possession in the first half although they lacked fluency and struggled to create any real openings against a well-drilled United side who were always in the game.
Robben was Bayern’s chief threat, getting into several promising positions after cutting inside on to his left foot in familiar fashion but his efforts were either blocked by defenders or flashed wide.
United had one opening when Rooney got clear of the Bayern defence but he dithered and failed to notice Shinja Kagawa in an unmarked position as the chance went begging.
The visitors went ahead in remarkable fashion when Antonio Valencia burst down the right and, although his cross went behind United’s forwards, the lurking Evra lashed home a net-bursting effort from the edged of the area.
United’s joy was shortlived though as Bayern replied immediately when Mandzukic got in front of Evra to score with a diving header after a Frank Ribery cross from the left.
That opened the game up completely and Rooney should have put United back in front but completely scuffed his shot with only Manuel Neuer to beat from 12 metres after Danny Wellbeck rolled the ball invitingly to him.
United were not given a second chance.
Mueller put Bayern in front when he turned in Robben’s cross from close range.
Robben then ensured there would be no nervous finale for Bayern when he collected a ball on the right and danced his way across the edge of the penalty area past two defenders before squeezing in a shot with took a deflection off of Nemanja Vidic.
With the Bundesliga title already in the bag, Bayern can now look forward to challenging for more silverware in the coming weeks, but for United this defeat all but ended their season.
Seventh in the Premier League, David Moyes’s side will almost certainly be missing from next season’s Champions League.

REVEALED: SEE Why Nigerian Female Celebs Take Nu’de Photos Of Themselves

With the likes of singer Maheeda and Dencia, actress Afrocandy, model Ify Jones and others leading the trend, celebs have found a way to take advantage of every opportunity to show off some skin, be it on the red carpets or on Instagram photos. ONLINECLASSES
This trend orNUNAVUT CULTURE has gotten many the much-needed attention that they crave to forge ahead in their careers as musicians, actors or models. It starts with a little show of cle’avage and then other major body parts begin to follow in the ra’unchiest of photos.
When asked in an interview why she takes pleasure in posting her nu’de photos online, the controversial singer Maheeda stated that, ‘It is deliberate. I know what I am doing. The pictures are not targeted at anything. It is all about attention and there is no mistake about it. This business of music is called show business and I am convinced I am on the right track. I owe no apologies. I just realised this way will be a faster hit than any other way. The pictures are working for me’.
While the ladies strut around displaying their bo’obs, the guys on the other hand are always eager to show off their six packs and abs, and most times not afraid to str’ip on stage revealing a cro’tch. As in several cases that we have witnessed, sometimes, the lady fans are allowed to get a feel of their crot’ch in some show of se’xuality and appeal.
Celebs getting na’ked isn’t exactly a new phenomenon but the last year saw more of them shedding their clo’thes in the name of promotion. Celebrity nu’de photos inspire instant fas’cination from a lot of fans, most of who hardly care but even wish for full disc’losure.
With phrases like ‘nu’dity and se’x sells’ and ‘se’xy is the new cool’, we seem have come to an era where showing some skin seems to be the in thing and sometimes termed the new definition of se’xy.
Like many will say in defense of their actions, ‘if you have it, flaunt it’.

Disaster Managers Urged to Prepare for This Year’s Rainy Season

Musa Ilallah, the North West Zonal Coordinator, of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), on Tuesday, urged disaster managers to be proactive in preparing for this year’s rainy season.
Ilallah made the call in Kaduna, while speaking at a one day workshop on “Comprehensive Disaster Management: Preparedness and Coordination for Response Emergencies”.
“Disaster knows no boundaries; unless disaster management and risk reduction are effectively driven at all levels, their impacts will be extremely difficult and costly to address” he said. “We face human tragedy and heavy economic losses from disasters whose frequency and intensity have escalated in recent years in the country”.
The Zonal Coordinator pleaded with stakeholders across jurisdictions, sectors and disciplines to be aware of activities needed to mitigate disasters, stressing the need for everyone involved in disaster management to work together and build a culture of preparedness, prevention, response and resilience to disaster in the communities.
Meanwhile, a lecturer at Kaduna polytechnic, Ishaq Alhassan, also called on Journalists to educate the people on disaster management, while delivering his lecture titled “Communication and Information Sharing”.
“There is a lot the media can do to avert disasters or reduce the extent of preventable disasters instead of waiting for disasters to happen and then rush in to get the number of deaths and extent of damages” he said.
Alhassan pointed out that stakeholder had roles to play in ensuring that there was an adequate preparation prior to disasters in the country.

Atletico success built on shaky economy

Atletico Madrid’s emergence as a third force in Spain and contenders among Europe’s elite rests on wobbly economic foundations and the edifice could come crashing down if they cannot sustain their remarkable run.
The club’s success is in large measure down to inspirational coach Diego Simeone, who, since taking charge in late 2011, has moulded an unspectacular squad into a unit capable of challenging the continent’s richest clubs, including La Liga rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Real and Barca again topped Deloitte’s latest Football Money League of the world’s wealthiest club’s by income, with revenue in excess of 500 million euros ($687 million), while Atletico squeaked into the top 20 with earnings of 120 million.
Despite the huge gulf in resources, they are a point clear of Barca at the top of Spain’s domestic league and three ahead of Real with six games left and are closing in on a first La Liga title since 1996 with a team featuring Simeone in midfield.
At the same time, they have enjoyed another lucrative run in Europe and play their Champions League quarter-final, second leg at home to Barca on Wednesday with the pair locked at 1-1 after last week’s first leg in the Catalan capital.
Step back from the euphoria for a moment, however, and a glance at Atletico’s accounts makes for grim reading.
Figures for 2011-12 collated by Jose Maria Gay, a professor at the University of Barcelona and an expert on soccer finances, show the club are saddled with debts of more than 500 million euros and the cost of paying their players and staff alone is more than 90 per cent of annual earnings.
They had managed to stay afloat due to their unexpected winnings on the pitch and by convincing the government to let them fall behind in the payment of more than 100 million euros in taxes, according to Jaume Llopis, a professor at the IESE business school in Barcelona and soccer finance expert.
The sale of top players like Fernando Torres, David De Gea and Sergio Aguero to the Premier League, a partnership with the Azerbaijan tourist board, reported to be worth 12 million euros over 18 months, and a deal with sporting goods maker Nike have also helped keep the wolves from the door, Llopis said.
“Atletico Madrid’s financial situation is dramatic,” he told Reuters.
“But this year because of the team’s excellent results their economic problems are not talked about.
“Only with their continued presence in the Champions League, locking in the sponsorship deal with Azerbaijan, attracting more sponsors and selling their best players can they improve their finances, although it will be very tough.
“Either they stay in the Champions League and win the odd title which keeps the sponsors happy or they won’t be able to straighten out their precarious economic situation.”
BRIGHT SPOT
Angel Barajas, a professor of finance and accounting at the University of Vigo who specialises in sports economics, believes Atletico do not have the resources to challenge in more than one competition over the longer term.
However, by selling their best players from time to time and buying decent replacements, as well as bringing through talent from the club’s academy, they could remain a strong contender in the second rank behind the richest teams, he added.
“Atletico’s situation is problematic because of the level of debt but if they manage to keep wages under control and sell players to raise cash, while keeping their sporting model intact, they could stay at a good level,” Barajas told Reuters.
“What is not viable in the long term is trying to stay in the fight for La Liga and European silverware in competition with clubs who have more than twice their earnings.
“One exceptional season is possible but competing at the highest level in various competitions needs not only a good team but an extraordinary squad. And that costs a great deal.”
Placido Rodriguez, a professor of economics at Oviedo University and a former chairman of Sporting Gijon, noted several examples of Spanish clubs with relatively limited resources that have challenged at the highest level before fading away again.
These included Valencia, Villarreal, Deportivo La Coruna and Sevilla, who all had successful runs in Europe and either won or came close to winning La Liga in the past 15 years but like Atletico, have had to sell their top performers.
One potential bright spot for Atletico, which would boost revenue and help secure their future, was the planned move from their crumbling Calderon stadium to a new 70,000-capacity arena at La Peineta, Rodriguez said.
There are also plans for a vast new training complex which would include offices, a 15,000-seater stadium for the second and third teams and facilities and shops for fans.
“If these two projects come off and they don’t make any crazy financial decisions in the meantime, for example when results aren’t going their way, Atletico’s economic situation will be much improved,” Rodriguez told Reuters.
Atletico have already qualified for next season’s Champions League and their run in the latest edition of the competition should see them climb the rankings in Deloitte’s next Money League, the accounting firm said.

REVEALED: “Ga’y People Lived With Fela” – Seun Kuti Confesses

Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, has revealed that his legendary father, Fela Anikulakpo Kuti, was open to homosexuals, showing them hospitality, and even admitting them into his home.
Seun believes that Fela would never have given his support to the anti-g*y law, if he were alive. Speaking toTelevision Continentalreporters, he revealed that he is against the popular Nigerian law which criminalize same s*x intimate relationships.
“I do not support the anti g*y law and contrary to what people think, if my father was alive, he would not have supported the law too.
I know him more than all the people saying otherwise. In our house in Kalakuta, there were g*y people living there,’ Kuti said.
The controversial law was passed earlier in the year and prescribes a 14-year jail term for offenders.

Mourinho set to axe Mikel, Moses

The British media is awash with stories that Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho is prepared to do away with the services of his Nigerian charges, John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses.
Mikel has made 26 league appearances for Chelsea this season but has found first-team opportunities increasingly restricted following the arrival to the club, in January of Serbian midfielder, Nemanja Matic.
Moses was hurled off to Liverpool on a season-long loan deal last summer but has hardly featured for Brendan Rodgers’ high flyers with Raheem Sterling and Phillipe Coutinho in audacious form.
Authoritative British newspaper,The Standard, reports that Chelsea are planning a mass clear-out of more than 10 players in the summer, with Mikel, Moses, Fernando Torres and Ashley Cole all set to leave.
Mourinho admitted after Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Crystal Palace that changes had to be made in order to improve the squad for next season.
Anxious to adapt to Uefa’s Financial Fair Play rules, the club want to bring down their wage bill, which means they are prepared to sell some of the 28 players currently loaned out including Moses.
Mikel has found himself frozen out since Matic joined for £21 million in January and Chelsea hope he can command a large fee because he has three years left on his contract.
Chelsea are also confident they can make a significant profit on their loan players and Moses, who cost € 11.5 million in 2012, is not part of the Chelsea coach’s plans, so a permanent move will be sought for the Nigerian.
Mourinho left little to the imagination when he dropped the strongest possible hint yet of the expected traffic at the club at the end of the season.
“We want to improve the team and the players and make some surgical movements in the transfer window.
“Normally at the end of the season, players that are not playing a lot or who are not happy and prefer a change, that is also part of the market,” he said at his post-match press conference after Chelsea lost 0-1 to Crystal Palace at the weekend.

Borno Governor Criticizes Reports Alleging That Military Help Terrorists

Borno State governor Kashim Shettima criticized media reports alleging that military are linked with Boko Haram.
The mentioned reports, which have recently gone viral, credit to an unknown Nigeria soldier, who was heard on the Hausa Service broadcast of the Voice of America claiming that top military leaders were working in tandem with Boko Haram.
Reacting to the story Governor Shettima said:
“Of all conspiracy theories being alleged of the Boko Haram, the most dangerous, as far as I’m concerned, is to raise such grievous suspicion around our security forces. When citizens grow such suspicion and believe in it, I’m afraid, Boko Haram can light fireworks to celebrate a grand victory of setting up citizens against the security agencies.”
Expressing his confidence in the security sources fighting against terrorism in the troubled regions, the governor urged Nigerians to understand that faced with the insurgency, the security agencies are all the country has and asked people to respect the work they are doing.
“I know the number of military men, police men and women as well as para-military men and women, among them commanders in the military and senior police officers, who sacrificed their lives in the fight against our unfortunate insurgency problems in Borno, which also obtains in some parts of Nigeria.”
Stressing that terrorists will do everything possible to cause confusion, the official asked people not to yield to manipulations and not to lose focus.
According to him, is it also very important for the media to work in cooperation with the military and Nigerians, because raising unneeded suspicion can only lead to disintegration, which can be used by the terrorists for their advantage.

Ronaldo breaks off training in Dortmund

Cristiano Ronaldo is doubtful for Real Madrid’s Champions League quarterfinal, second-leg against Borussia Dortmund after breaking off Monday’s final training session with a knee injury.
Ronaldo completed just 20 minutes of Real’s final training session on the eve of Tuesday’s match at Dortmund’s Westfalenstadion having sat out Real’s 4-0 win at Real Sociedad on Saturday to recover from the problem.
The 29-year-old suffered the knee injury after scoring Real’s final goal in their 3-0 win over Dortmund at Madrid’s Bernabeu Stadium last Wednesday and sought treatment in Dortmund immediately after breaking off training.
Madrid’s Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti has said he will delay making a decision on Ronaldo and will not risk the world player of the year.
“Cristiano always wants to play and I want him to play, but he is a professional and knows when he can’t,” said Ancelotti before overseeing the final training session.
“We have to wait until after training, but we’ll take our time with the final decision and we don’t want to take any risks.”
Portugal star Ronaldo is Real’s top-scorer this season having hit the net 45 times in all competitions.

Court Sentences 27-year-old Man To Life Imprisonment For Attempted Armed Robbery

An Ikeja High Court on Monday sentenced a 27-year-old man, Olayinka Ayeni, to life imprisonment for assaulting a lady while attempting to snatch her handbag in Meiran area of Lagos.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ayeni was charged to court by the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
He was arraigned on June 27, 2012 before Justice Lateefat Okunnu on a charge of armed robbery and had pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr Femi Adamson, had told the court that Ayeni committed the offence on March 14, 2011 at about 10.30 p.m., at No. 40, Kola Oretuga St., Iyana Bus Stop, Meiran, Lagos.
Adamson said that Ayeni trailed one Miss Modupeola Iromini from the bus stop and assaulted her with a sharp weapon while attempting to snatch her handbag.
According to him, the victim shouted for help and was rescued by some persons who apprehended Ayeni and handed him over to the police.
He said Iromini was later taken for treatment at Niki Hospital, Meiran, due to the injuries inflicted on her by Ayeni.
Adamson said the offence contravened Section 403 (2) (a) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State 2003.
Delivering her judgment, Okunnu said the prosecution had proved its case against the accused beyond any reasonable doubt.
The judge convicted the accused of the offence of attempted robbery.
She said the testimonies of the victim and her father were very credible and they had properly identified the accused.
According to her, the evidence before the court shows that Ayeni was armed with a dangerous weapon while he was attempting to snatch the handbag.
The judge said he was, therefore, guilty of the offence of attempted armed robbery.
Okunnu said the sentence would commence from June 27, 2012 when Ayeni was arraigned for the offence.

Chelsea look to home form against PSG

Chelsea will be hoping their outstanding home record will be enough to help them overturn a two-goal deficit when they play Paris St Germain in the quarterfinal, second-leg of the Champions League on Tuesday.
Manager Jose Mourinho has never lost a quarter-final tie in the competition, in his time with Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid, and is desperate not to break that run at Stamford Bridge.
Their 3-1 defeat in Paris last week, when a last-minute goal gave PSG a two-goal cushion, made life difficult for the English side, who won the Champions League in 2012.
But it is their home form – with 15 wins out of 17 in the league this season – that gives Chelsea fans most hope.
“It’s the worst time of the season to get results like this but we are a different team at Stamford Bridge with our fans behind us,” midfielder Andreas Schuerrle said. “It will be difficult but it is not impossible.”
Mourinho has bemoaned a side “with no strikers” due to the lack of form of Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o this season. Torres drew a blank in the weekend win over Stoke and Mourinho is so desperate that he may be willing to risk a semi-fit Eto’o on Tuesday.
“If we don’t score a minimum of two goals, we are out, we know that,” he said. “If we can have everybody available who can give us a chance to score goals then let’s do that. So maybe I will pick him but to risk a player you need to have minimum conditions.
“If you think he’s going to be out after 10 minutes of the game you can’t take that risk. But if there is a minimum of conditions of risk, then, yes, I will pick him.” Midfield stalwart Frank Lampard said Chelsea need to maintain their focus throughout, with any slip in concentration likely to be costly.
“The problem with Champions League football is that you can’t settle for having good periods in the game like we did the other night,” he said.
“The quality levels are so high that in little moments you can end up losing the game.
“That was the disappointing thing about Paris but we’ve got the ability and we’ve got the desire. We have to have confidence in ourselves and go and try and turn it around.”
“With the squad we’ve got and the players we’ve got we can the game by two goals, for sure, but we can’t be too gung-ho. It’s about finding the right balance on the night.
“We’ll look at it. I think that is when you trust the manager. He is very strong in these situations.”
PSG meanwhile will have to compensate for the loss of Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is expected to be sidelined for up to four weeks and would also miss the semi-finals if the French side go through.
Ibrahimovic, who has 10 goals in this season’s competition, picked up a thigh injury in the 69th minute of the first leg.

‘’Tax payment is a law and a civic responsibility of all sundries; it is through this effort that government provides massive infrastructural development, security and other amenities.

Nigerian Man Tries Intruding Buckingham Palace To Speak With The Queen

23-year-old Tosin Odunaiya, a Nigerian living illegally in England on Friday April 4th caused a scene at the
Buckingham Palace with the hope of meeting with the Queen ‘privately’.
A member of the Queen’s Guard pointing a gun at the Tosin’s throat in front of the gates of Buckingham Palace
Tosin, who came alone, told the guards who stopped him in front of the palace, that the queen would welcome and help him as he is finding it hard to return to Nigeria. When the guards told him to step, Tosin started a shouting match with the guards, resulting in one armed soldier intervening & pointing his gun at Tosin.
Speaking to The Sun, Tosin said: ‘I wanted to speak with the Queen and presumed the Royal Family would have welcomed me as their lost son.”
Daily Mail reports:
Odunaiya, who claims the soldier, a member of the Coldstream Guards, ‘didn’t scare me’ said: ‘I was shouting louder and louder when the Guard came over and started shaking his gun at me.’
Passers-by reported how the would-be intruder said ‘Oh you’re a big boy now’ to the soldier – thought to be Scottish – who in turn replied ‘Yes I am a big boy’ before pushing him.
Royal protection officers then ushered the man away, though he was not arrested.
He told the newspaper that the incident on Friday was his fifth attempt to get into the palace, and that before he has been so sure of being allowed in that he brought a toothbrush with him.
Odunaiya claims that his past visits were made to lobby the Queen over Syria, but that now he just wants help going home to Nigeria – as he hates it in Britain.
It is unusual for soldiers to leave their post unless a Royal is under threat, as the Metropolitan Police are responsible for most issues related to guarding the palace.
But it is believed that the soldier who intervened has the backing of his superiors. The Metropolitan police said that they gave the man ‘words of advice’.
A spokesman said: ‘An incident occurred at the north centre gate of Buckingham Palace at approximately 17.50hrs on Friday 4th April.
‘Officers from Royalty protection spoke to a male and he was given words of advice. There were no arrests.’
Scotland Yard refused to elaborate on why the man was not arrested.
A statement from the Army said: ‘We are aware of an incident outside Buckingham Palace on Friday and while no one came to any harm and there were no arrests, we are very clear that the Metropolitan Police lead on Royal Security arrangements including outside the Palace itself.’

Big Match Feature: Chelsea v PSG

Chelsea are used to holding sway over French visitors but that record will be tested against free-scoring Paris Saint-Germain, who lead 3-1 from the first leg of the Uefa Champions League. Catch the action live onSS3 HDand live streaming on supersport.comfrom8pm.
The Blues have conceded in only one of their five home matches against French teams but José Mourinho’s side will be wary of PSG, who have scored 14 goals in four away games in the 2013/14 Champions League and who visit London with a healthy 3-1 quarterfinal first-leg advantage.
PSG will be without their injured striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has 10 goals in the campaign and worked under Mourinho at Inter Milan in 2008/09, as they seek their second semi-final appearance.
Previous Meetings
The teams’ sole previous meeting at Stamford Bridge, in the 2004/05 Champions League group stage, ended goalless. Chelsea had already qualified and went on to top the group while Paris came bottom.
The full lineups at Stamford Bridge on 24 November 2004 were:
Chelsea:Cudicini, Johnson, Gallas, Carvalho, Bridge, Parker, Lampard (Drogba 62), Smertin, J Cole, Kežman (Gudjohnsen 62), Robben (Duff 46).
PSG:Letizi, Pichot, Mendy, Yepes, Cana, Armand, M’Bami, Cissé (Boškovic 83), Pierre-Fanfan, Reinaldo (Coridon 77) Pauleta (Pancrate 90).
The match in Paris was Mourinho’s first European fixture in charge of Chelsea, the season after he lifted the trophy for the first time with FC Porto. His side won 3-0 through a John Terry header and two strikes from Didier Drogba.
The teams also drew 1-1 in a friendly on 23 July 2012 at Yankee Stadium in New York, Nenê and Lucas Piazon scoring the goals. The starting lineups were:
Chelsea:Cech, Ferreira, Luiz, Cahill, Hutchinson, De Bruyne, Lampard, Mikel, Hazard, Lukaku, Kakuta.
PSG:Douchez, Sakho, Alex, Armand, Jallet, Nenê, Bodmer, Chantôme, Pastore, Lavezzi, Gameiro.
Chelsea have received visitors from France on five occasions and kept four clean sheets. In the 2003/04 Champions League semifinal second leg they drew 2-2 with AS Monaco, bowing out 5-3 on aggregate.
The Londoners beat an FC Girondins de Bordeaux outfit coached by Laurent Blanc 4-0 at home in the 2008/09 group stage – Frank Lampard with the opener – before a 1-1 draw in France. They also overcame Olympique Marseille 1-0 in both the 2010/11 group stage and the 1999/2000 second group stage.
PSG have played eight games against English teams with the recordW2 D3 L3. First leg aside, their only other victory came in the first leg of the 1996/97 Uefa Cup Winners’ Cup semi-final, a 3-0 home triumph over Liverpool setting up a 3-2 aggregate win. In the final they lost 1-0 to Barcelona. On their last cross-Channel trip they drew 0-0 at Manchester City in the 2008/09 Uefa Cup group stage.
Match Background
Chelsea are looking to book their place in a seventh semi-final in 11 campaigns. They reached this stage with a 2-0 home win against Galatasaray AS, securing a 3-1 aggregate success in the last 16.
The Blues have won seven of the 12 Uefa competition ties in which they have had a first-leg deficit to retrieve at Stamford Bridge, most recently against Steaua Bucuresti in last season’s Europa League round of 16 (0-1 away, 3-1 home).
They famously ousted Napoli 4-1 after extra time in the 2011/12 Champions League round of 16 second leg – having lost 3-1 away – en route to lifting the trophy, though that was their sole successful attempt to overhaul a first-leg away defeat by a two-goal margin or more. On the only other occasion they lost 3-1 away from home, Monaco earned a 2-2 draw in London in the 2003/04 Champions League semis.
Of the 11 seasons in which they have come through the group stage, Chelsea have topped their section eight times, including this term. They lost home and away to FC Basel 1893 but won their four other fixtures without shipping a goal, beating Steaua Bucuresti 4-0 away and 1-0 at home and FC Schalke 04 3-0 home and away.
The Basel defeat was Chelsea’s solitary reverse in 17 European home games, with 14 victories in that sequence.
Mourinho, who also captured the Champions League with Inter (2010), is bidding to become the first manager to win the European Cup with three different teams. Only Bob Paisley (Liverpool 1977, 1978, 1981) has collected the trophy three times as a coach.
Mourinho has never lost a European quarter-final, winning seven Champions League ties and one Uefa Cup last-eight contest.
Chelsea are out to land a European trophy for the third season running having added the Europa League last season to their 2011/12 Champions League crown.
PSG are in the quarter-finals for the second successive campaign – and just the third time in all. A year ago at this juncture they drew 2-2 at home to Barcelona and 1-1 at the Camp Nou, going out on away goals.
In this term’s round of 16, a 4-0 triumph at Bayer 04 Leverkusen heralded a comfortable Paris victory. They won the return 2-1.
The success at Leverkusen continued a pattern of impressive goalscoring form on the road in this season’s competition – in Group C Blanc’s team prevailed 4-1 at Olympiacos, 5-0 at Anderlecht, and lost for the only time in the pool 2-1 at Benfica.
PSG have won six of their last 11 Champions League away matches, losing just two. Their other European Cup semifinal appearance came in 1994/95 when they succumbed 3-0 on aggregate to AC Milan.
The French side have won 11 of 14 European ties in which they won the first leg at home, and have won three of the four in which that initial margin of victory was two goals. The sole exception was against KSV Waterschei in the 1982/83 European Cup Winners’ Cup quarterfinals, when they won 2-0 at home but lost 3-0 in Belgium.
Chelsea’s shoot-out record in Uefa competitions:
*.4-3 v Bayern Munich, 2011/12 Champions League final
*.5-6 v Manchester United, 2007/08 Champions League final
*.1-4 v Liverpool, 2006/07 Champions League semifinal
PSG’s shoot-out record:
*.3-4 v Rangers, 2001/02 Uefa Cup third round
Team Ties
Alex made 135 outings for Chelsea between 2007 and 2012, scoring ten times. He joined in 2004 but spent three seasons loaned to PSV Eindhoven before returning to Stamford Bridge, earning a Champions League runners-up medal in 2008. He won the 2009/10 Premier League and the FA Cup in both 2009 and 2010. He signed for Paris in January 2012.
Other players who have served both clubs include Claude Makelele, Nicolas Anelka and Mateja Kežman.
In 2010/11 Eden Hazard picked up the French Cup after LOSC Lille’s 1-0 victory over Paris and then a week later played in a 2-2 draw at Parc des Princes which gave LOSC the French double for the first time since 1946. He lost just one of nine Ligue 1 games against Paris, scoring in a 2-1 home success in April 2012.
At LOSC Hazard was a team-mate of Yohan Cabaye and Lucas Digne.
César Azpilicueta played for Marseille between 2010 and 2012, winning only one of his three encounters with Paris: a 3-0 victory in November 2011 in which he helped set up one of the goals.
Petr Cech represented Stade Rennais between 2002 and 2004, winning one of four league meetings with Paris.
Demba Ba began his career at FC Rouen and was a colleague of Cabaye at Newcastle United. The Paris midfielder was on Tyneside between 2011 and 2014, scoring 18 goals in 93 appearances and playing in two home wins against Chelsea and one victory at Stamford Bridge. He was twice on the losing side against the Blues.
Zoumana Camara spent 2003/04 on loan at Leeds United AFC from RC Lens, making 15 outings and scoring once.
Mourinho signed Thiago Motta for Inter in July 2009 when he became a team-mate of Samuel Eto’o. Ibrahimovic had spent 2008/09 working under the Portuguese coach, netting 25 goals to finish as Serie A top scorer as Inter were champions.
Oscar was on target in Brazil’s 3-0 friendly success over a France side containing Blaise Matuidi and Cabaye on 9 June 2013 in Porto Alegre.
Thiago Silva, Lucas and Marquinhos are Brazil team-mates of David Luiz, Oscar and Ramires.
Blanc was at Barcelona in 1996/97 when Mourinho was working alongside the club’s coach Bobby Robson. He ended his playing days at Manchester United between 2001 and 2003, figuring in 3-0 wins for both away teams when up against Chelsea in his first season and a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge in his second.

Birdman Gets New Face Tattoo, Buys Justin Bieber A Bugatti

Birdman gets new ink in a highly visible place and buys Justin Bieber a new car.
As we’ve seen plenty of in the past, rappers like to pay homage to the things they love in tattoo-form. Kevin Gates recently had an interview where he explained many of his face tattoos, some of which are similar to Cash Money’s Birdman. Now Birdman has inked something new on his face, which reps his Rich Gang management company (there was a Rich Gang album as well, basically a compilation with all of his homies).
Birdman posted images of his new ink on his Instagram, one of the reflected ‘RG’ as well as another of a finger tattoo that says ‘YMCMYSL’. As the Smoking Section points out, this could very well be a permanent representation of Young Thug’s Stoner Life movement, although Thugga does not seem to be very aware of his YMCMB affiliations.
You can check out images of both new tattoos below. In addition to this, we have to report on the fact that Stunna bought the person who probably needs a Bugatti the least, a Bugatti. AKA Justin Bieber. The Biebz showed off his red Bugatti courtesy of Birdman on his Instagram with the caption, “Uncle Stunna luv. My first Bugatti ♛ #generosity.”
